We will start our journey to Guimarães, where we will visit the castle of Guimarães built by Countess Mumadona Dias in the 10th century and learn about the history of D. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal, also in the same place we will visit the Paço dos Duques de Bragança, a 15th century building, built by D. Afonso at the time of the future Duke of Bragança and the bastard son of King D. João I.

After Guimarães, we will visit the city of Braga and the Bom Jesus, a place of unique beauty from where we can contemplate the city and then visit the center of Braga and visit the existing Cathedral of Braga since the year 400.

Ponte de Lima is our next visit, one of the oldest villages in Portugal characterized by its medieval architecture and the surrounding area, bathed by the Lima River.

The last visit is to Viana do Castelo where we will go up to the Santa Luzia Sanctuary, a place of unique beauty.

Fátima – Óbidos – Nazaré

After meeting at your hotel, we will head towards Fátima, a place of pilgrimage, which remembers its founding event, the apparitions of Our Lady to the three little shepherds. Acapelinha was erected in 1919 at the site of the 1917 apparitions in Cova da Iria and, since then, the space of the Sanctuary has been built, in response to the significant influx of pilgrims.

After the visit to the Sanctuary, we will visit Óbidos, which had strategic importance in the territory. Already occupied before the Romans reached the Iberian Peninsula, the town became more prosperous from the moment it was chosen by the royal family. Since the king D. Dinis offered it to his wife D. Isabel, in the century. XIII, he stayed at the Casa das Rainhas which, over the course of the various dynasties, was also benefiting and enriching it. Within walls, we find a well-preserved castle and a maze of streets and white houses that enchant those who pass by. Among Manueline porches, flowered windows and small squares, there are several reasons to visit, good examples of the religious and civil architecture of the golden times of the village.

After getting to know Óbidos it is time to visit the beaches of Nazaré, known for its big waves, the stage of countless surf championships being one of the favorite places for surfers.

After a break to taste the typical custard tarts (pastel de nata) and see their production, we’ll head to the other side of the Douro River, from where we can contemplate the city of Porto from a unique place. It’s time to have lunch in a typical Porto restaurant, where you can taste some of the best Portuguese dishes. In the afternoon, we will travel along the Douro River until we reach the sea, where we will visit the beaches of Porto. On the way back we will visit a Port wine cellar where we will finally taste some of the best wines produced in the Douro region. Come with us and spend a different day.
