Porto has one of the richest artistic, cultural and historical heritages in Portugal, patent in the numerous monuments and museums scattered throughout the city, as was internationally recognized by UNESCO with the classification of the old part of the city as a world heritage and also the election of Porto city as European Capital of Culture in 2001. But Porto is also a city that is discovered in a small alley or in a corner of a narrow street. I leave here an invitation to exploration and adventure.
I will pick you in your hotel and we will start by visiting Palácio da Bolsa (old Stock Exchange), a building from 1834 with huge halls of unique beauty. We continue our visit through the old streets of Porto until we reach one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, the Bookstore Lello. After a break to taste typical pastry and see how is made we will head to the other side of Douro river, from where we can contemplate the city of Porto from a unique location. It’s time to lunch in a typical Porto restaurant where you can enjoy some of the best dishes. In the afternoon we will go along the Douro river until we reach the sea, where we will visit the beaches of Porto. To finish we will visit a Porto wine cellar where you can also enjoy the various types of Porto wine.
